2015 June Draft Results Thread

Then don't go on the internet until after the fact. Not hard.

For real. For instance: as someone who hasn't read the books, if I don't watch Game of Thrones on Sunday, I don't use non-essential internets until I do.

MLB network guys are saying he is a top 5 talent if not injured. Since it isn't an arm injury it shouldn't be a huge deal. The Braves may have gotten the best pitcher in the draft at 14.

The guys on MLB network LOVED the pick. Could have been a top 3 pick if not for the back injury.

Sounds like the same deal with getting Max Fried.

Reminds me of Jason Heyward

Agreed. Braves seem to have an advantage with a lot of these kids. Heyward was absolutely the same case with the Braves supposedly doing shady things to keep him away from other teams.

Clark's remarks are incredibly encouraging. Said he wants to be a Brave--otherwise, he was going to UCLA. Also said, that our team doctors examined him thoroughly and aren't concerned about his injury. Allard didn't let any other ML team doctors look at him. If that's all true, it's hard to argue with the pick as I'd like to think we have drafted a guy with Matt Harvey potential.

They talked to Roy Clark about the pick during the game. He said it was THEIR guy. Best pitcher period in the draft. He also said that the Braves were the only team he would sign with, if anyone else drafted him he was going to college. He was brought to Atlanta, threw for them and the Braves docs looked at the injury and signed off on him. Sounds like a great pick!

The back injury is a pars defect. This is a stress reaction/fracture of the pars interarticularis. This is essentially a situation where you rest and let it heal. No surgery needed. 89% of athletes with this injury return to play.

Really random and weird for a California kid. I wonder if we made a pre draft over slot deal.

Good move by the kid. Any other teams doctor would of found an injury that ours certainly missed.
