It was a good week to be Jake Brigham.

On Wednesday, Brigham -- a 27-year-old right hander formerly in the Pirates' organization -- was added to the Southern League all-star team. Brigham is arguably the league's hot hand, going 3-0 with a 2.45 mark in five starts during the month of May. The Florida native was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks (May 25-31 & June 1-7). He took a perfect game into the ninth inning on June 4 at Trustmark Park before surrendering a double down the left field line. Brigham was signed by the Braves as a free agent on November 20, 2014.

Thursday,Brigham held the Biloxi Shuckers to just two hits over eight innings to lead the Mississippi Braves to a 5-1 victory Thursday evening at Trustmark Park. The series continues Friday at 7:00 PM.

Brigham (6-2) allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five to pick up the win. Mississippi (32-27) scored five runs on eight hits. Biloxi (36-24) plated one run on three hits. Mallex Smith and Rio Ruiz both posted two-hit nights at the plate. Smith added two RBIs. Brigham won only three games all last season at Class AAA Indianapolis.

Any insight as to why the turnaround for Brigham? New pitch? Changed delivery? I mean those results don't just turn on a dime usually.

Three Braves named to the SALLY League All-Star team - Albies, Daris, and Kyle Kinman.

Looks like a good day for me to go to McCormick Field - really looking forward to seeing Rafael Devers in person as well.

Johan Camargo is the only Brave on the roster for the Carolina-California League All-Star game.

I'm gonna catch a couple of the Rome/Greenville games this weekend. I'm really stoked to see Albies and Davidson for the first time. I've been watching Devers and Javier Guerra (he's gonna move up some lists soon, I think) all season and am pretty impressed. With those guys on the field, you hardly notice Moncada.

Mallex Smith is 1-2 so far tonight with an infield hit, plus he just stole second and third with one out. Well, they are calling the second one a wild pitch though ball didn't get away (apparently was in the dirt). Smith now scores on a ground out.

That was a run created almost totally by Smith's speed. He's now hitting .351 on the season.

If only we had some hitting prospects to go with all that pitching......

I can't remember a time when the Braves had at least 2 or 3 interesting guys at each level in their farm system.

Especially the lower minors. The Braves have some really high ceiling prospects there.

Yeah I agree but some people were freaking out because we didnt draft very many position players. If I was making a top 10 list I think I would have 4 position players at the top of that list before I got to a pitcher.

Thinking about the future of the Atlanta Braves:

So the following guys I think have a shot at being top 100 prospects at the end of the year. Obviously, not all of them are going to get there and it depends on the performance and scouting reports as the year progresses.

Peraza
Smith
Albies
Davidson
Peterson
Ruiz (Started off real slow but has an isoOBP of .127)

How many do you guys think we get on that list from the positional side?
