Cheese and chalk. Hanson whipped his arm and used about 65% of the possible rotation of the shoulder. Lots of torque. He was a biomechanical nightmare. It was a matter of time.
Wood is open at release because his stride is six inches right of center. I don't like it because it's not as efficient as it could be, but a lot of pitchers (especially Dominicans) do it, just without the shoulder roll. Mario Soto comes to mind. It won't kill him quickly, and it's got to be hard to pick up the ball. I think he's going to be okay.

Although according to Zito, Hanson had nearly flawless mechanics with tons of leg power... despite the fact he had one of the most violent shoulder whips on the follow through I've ever seen.

Well when you realized that sheit was going down the drain there, did it not prompt you to maybe PM any names from the user list? I'm sure you still can see weso, meta, zito's name there because we're all constantly lurking there waiting to PM people or capitalize on when Patio goes to get drunk.
