Do we have another little run in us?

Seems like when you think this team is finished that they come up with a another spurt to get back to .500. Can we make another run at .500 or are we as close as we'll get right now?

I'd be surprised if they didn't, but the post-break schedule is not favorable for it, so the hole might get a little deeper.

Not until Freeman comes back (if then) - I hope, at least.

Time to improve our 2016 draft position and amount of pool space for next year's July 2nd signings so the penalty when the front office goes on a shopping spree isn't quite as bad as it would be if the season ended today.

With Freeman out this team is cooked. Best to let him take as much time as needed plus another week. Get a protected draft pick and then go after a big FA next year.

The Lairdership that will be shown by Kelly, AJ, and Tron the next few weeks will guide us. As well as Fredi having an unreal second half of managerial work to steer us into the wild card game.

I've been waiting for the fade and I think we might be in the prelude to that. But if we pitch well, anything could happen. I said 71-91 at the beginning of the season and I still think we'll end up right around that mark, especially if there is a veteran sell-off in the next two weeks.

Agree completely, and I think long term its in the best interests of this team to do all it can to continue to hoard assets in moves like trades, higher draft picks, etc...

The Astros rebuild has been pretty impressive. That franchise was a wasteland.

Yeah, they have drafted well but when you pick at the top of the draft for so long its only a matter of time as long as your management isn't incompetent.

We haven't seen the results yet but I think its just as impressive what the Braves have done.

I also think the Astors were playing above their head and are due for a regression (which they are experiencing currently).

We exceeded expectations for much of the first half of the season, and the guys really do deserve a bunch of credit for that. It was an admirable effort. But without Freeman and minus one of the two pitchers in the bullpen who were worth a damn, I just don't see it. Especially since we're likely to be trading away a bunch of guys over the next few weeks.

I hope Fredi's job this year does not go overlooked. Injuries plus he was handed a team not expected to do much of anything and for the most part I think he's gotten the most out of his players.

Yes. It would be tragic if Fredi were made the scapegoat for this team not winning the WS.

I hope we move in another direction at manager. At some point I think just a fresh face in the dugout is a positive. Fredi was at the controls for many a disappointing Septembers and Octobers.

Yep. Leaving streaks of **** in the toilet defeats the purpose of cleaning the bathroom.

I had a little run this weekend with the stomach flu. Kratzed it out all night long. Thank God for wet wipes man.
