Uribe and KJ to NYM

Like russ2 said above, we turned the (IMO highly questionable) Bert Calypso signing into something reasonable, if a longshot.

Meh. Seems like a trade just to make one. And we still have the bad Johnson.

Multiple posts on the Mets' Scout board saying the Braves got fleeced. At this point, I'm not sure I can argue.

If KJ and/or Uribe can help the Mets beat the Nationals, it'll go down (for the Mets) as one of the best trades this year.

We didn't get fleeced since we aren't going anywhere this year and both were gone at the end of the year anyway. Having said that, sure seems like an underwhelming return for two pretty good players. I didn't expect a huge return, but it seems like we should have gotten more than two at best fringe guys. Would have thought we could have gotten that for one but not for both.

Oh well, we are really going to suck now, which is good because it will strengthen our draft position. I bet the rest of the guys feel really stoked about knowing we've officially pulled the plug on the season.

Agreed. I can understand trading the two guys that we did but I don't understand how little we apparently got in return.

Who cares if they got fleeced, we dont know either way.

They traded two players who were FA's at the end of the year, really not sure why some/alot of you expected a huge return.

Gant seems like he's got some potential. I would rather have Gant than KJ/Uribe considering we're a losing team. Plus CJ should be starting. Need a miracle shot to rebuild his value.

1. How can the Braves not win? They suck. Losing 80 games or 90 games.......how does that matter? If you are not trying to win and you trade 2 guys who are rentals, how are you fleeced?

2. we know the giants inquired and didn't want to beat the offer...so it wasn't a deal in their eyes.

3. The ONLY way this isn't a win long term is if we could have eaten the 2.7 million and gotten better prospects

Make no mistake .. that $2.7 million saved is a major part of this thing. Can't believe this isn't leading to a Peraza callup.

Think they're gonna try and trade CJ before calling him up.

Take 2 of our 3 power guys out and replace with peraza. Unfortunately, I think you're right

I don't like trading uribe just for trading sake. Where are we gonna find a 3b next year? I thought uribe could've manned 3b for us next season until a better option came available. I don't think the chances of him coming back here are very good now

Why is that a major part of the trade? Do you of some move they are planning to make with that cash?

he prob comes up with roster expansion...he's not tearing it up now.

where does he play?

Play CJ, Terdo, Perez and hope one proves to have some value.
