Lulz Cowherd

Pathetic on ESPN's part. He makes good arguments, and this actually was one of them.

HOW COULD SOMEONE WHOSE SHOW IS CALLED THE HERD MAKE A STUPID, INSENSITIVE COMMENT?!?

Pathetic on ESPN's part. He makes good arguments, and this actually was one of them.

He was leaving at the end of the month I think anyways when his contract expired.

I think he'll do fine at Fox as a sports radio guy and Fox News guest commentator.

All he does is blow Lebron and Brady 24/7. He's clueless when it comes to baseball but this was far less offensive than many other things he's muttered. All about convenience for ESPN here.

Agreed. I heard that argument live. If that's enough to get someone thrown off air, the sensitivity level in this country has gotten out if control. Makes me wonder what the punishment would have been if he wasn't leaving anyway.

it was a good argument that Dominicans are stupid?
That's not what he said. He said Dominicans don't have the same degree of education as people in the U.S.

What he said sounded racist, but it was very obviously not intended to be racist. Why people are choosing to be upset at this is beyond me. Especially MLB who chooses to not provide the same translator services for Latin players that Japanese players get.

He said Dominicans don't have the same degree of education as people in the U.S.

even so, I think when you say "baseball isn't too complex...a third of the league is dominican!" as if saying "if dominicans can understand it, anyone can" on national radio it's easy to see why people would be offended by that, regardless of his intentions with what he said. it was a really stupid mistake to make.

Cowherd has said things that were far more racist in the past. He was just let go because he was leaving anyways.

That's my point. Intent no longer matters. It was obvious by the context of the segment that Cowherd wasn't being racist.

I think he said Dominicans aren't as well educated compared to other countries.

He was just pointing out that a big chunk of baseball players come from a country with low education standards. Thus, maybe it's not the thinking man's game as has been stated in the past.

I don't really see that as racist.

I guarantee you that if Stephen A Smith said it, nobody notices.

White man says it, crucify him.

He probably should have thought better of it, but I doubt he meant any harm.

I stopped listening to Colin because he hates baseball, or rather, he slobbers all over the NFL and NBA, subjects I care much less about.

Common sense wise, I thought he made good talking points. His practical advise was brutally honest at times, if some what irreverent.

Just my opinion I guess.
