Thread: 8/5/15: San Francisco Giants vs Atlanta Braves

I'm pretty impressed by how scrubby this starting-nine is.

It's incredibly difficult for me to watch this faux Braves team play. There are maybe two position players who have a chance to still be around in 2017. And they are really just role players.

If I tune-in, at this point, it mostly involves glancing up from a book—especially if they're down by more than two runs after the first few innings.

rick f'n ankiel. god what an awful player and it's not like it was a shock he'd suck.

In retrospect, probably Wren's worst trade. It didn't feature any headliners, but all three of the guys we traded--Blanco, Chavez, Collins--are still hanging around albeit Collins is sitting out 2015 after TJS.

For the record, I didn't like the Escobar deal that netted us Collins, Gonzalez, and Pastornicky, but Yunel had worn out his welcome and Cox wanted him gone so I won't lay that one totally at Wren's feet.

Hmmm but he doesn't hit homers and mostly just gets on base. So we shouldn't want him.

(I'm playing this game, too).

Yes, I think it's entirely rational to prefer a player who does that to one who does neither.

i dunno. it was pretty clear it was a horrible trade from the start.
