2016 Presidential Debates Thread [2-13-'16 GOP South Carolina]

I do hate that candidates are arbitrarily left off the stage, but 10 is already a ton. Tough to hear from everyone
 
Chris Christie's dad worked for an ice cream factory? I'll take the high road.

BTW, really like the way Paul finished.
 
By the way I just wanted to say this about Fox News. Their pre show was arguably the worst tv I've ever seen. I mean just awful. It was embarrasingly bad, but then their initial line of questioning was outstanding. Really tough questions and I think their first question in particular was pretty great. For each person on the stage the first question they asked was a very challenging question.

I liked that they asked each candidate to defend a questionable position. But then they lost all credibility and control of the debate
 
They got caught up in trying to trap Trump. The beginning when they were sitting there talking while the candidates were standing in front of them was the most uncomfortable thing ever.

Other than sitting on a plane between Christie eating a banana split and Paul reading Atlas Shrugged.

That's true, but that first round of questioning was outstanding, imo. It was good that literally for each candidate they initially asked a really good question.

Thought Christie, Rubes, and Jeb acquitted themselves well. In the next tier was Rand, Carson ( who may be the most intelligent person in the room, just not the most well groomed), Ohio gov in the next tier...
 
I think in the end Christie is the one who gets an A+. I really like Kasich, but his hair seems always a bit weird and I just can't ignore it. I think voters won't ingnore it either. It's obviously shalllow, but it is what it is.

I think Jeb was terrible, to the point that I won't vote for him. Rubio and Walker were bland. I think Cruz did good. He didn't get many questions, but he hung in there. That's important. Huckabee surprised me with solid answers. Carson was great as well. For me Walker sucked, Rubio sucked and Jeb sucked. I think Trump was great and I loved what he did. He was Trump. Trump is personally one of my least at favorite candidates but I was happy that he was Trump. Everyone said he was going to be presidential, but in the end he was Trump.

I'm surprised you think Jeb and Rubio did well. I think Rubio was fine but boring. I thought Jeb was embarrasingly nervous.

Understandable but on paper the dude is the best choice. Being nervous in one debate shouldn't override his past deeds as governor.

I would agree with you, but I'm not sure what to believe. I didn't think he would make it his far. I really thought he was going to try to be presidential but he just was flat out Trump. I think there's a real problem in the pubs side that Trump will run as third party
