GDT 8/8/15 Braves v Marlins

Guys, I think Nick Swisher has a bit of a problem being shy. Maybe he'll come out of his shell at some point..................

Yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how his personality plays in our clubhouse. Could be good, could be bad. I could see guys like Gomes clashing with him. Brohio, as he's known around these parts, seemed to wear out his welcome with a lot of Indians fans. His antics started out amusing, and then became annoying real quick.

Swisher said the chop came out of nowhere when he reached second base on the double. He plans to teach it to his 2-year-old daughter tonight

I imagine he and Gomes will clash when Swisher is in LF against LHP after Freeman returns.

Good points though. Hard to know how it will mix. It can't be worse than it was with Chris Johnson. The guy was a total distraction.

Yea, plus CJ made it known he wanted to go if not playing. So it was either this trade or CJ would've been released probably no later than this off-season. This trade makes more sense for Bourn alone since he can still play good in CF and Maybin is still not long for Atlanta according to reports. Bourn is a good mentor for Mallex Smith next year too, apparently they'll have lockers next to each other next Spring Training with that in mind too.

He wore out his welcome with Indians fans because of his awful production at the plate. I could care less what kind of personality he has if he can play.

Oakland loved Swisher, and he was a ton of fun to watch play there. I'm excited he's on the Braves, though I don't expect much.

I am more happy about Bourn being back, but I don't mind Swisher since it means CJ is gone and Nick seems excited to be here. I doubt he has much left in the tank and his defense hasn't been good in years and is probably worse now with all the knee issues too. So don't really know about him playing much after Freeman is back. I would rather others get time in the outfield than him.

the braves way

where showing emotion and having fun while playing the game is wrong
