Holy Schit: How is this man running for office successfully?

no they are not. They are candidates. Some get it right, others get it wrong. We vote accordingly. Or, with the help of gerrymandering, we vote accordingly

That's overly simplistic. Trump the entertainer reflects an entertainment obsessed populace. Clinton the tool of Wall Street reflects those whose faith is in Wall Street. Etc.

Trump playing the xenophobe reflects a populace filled with those that fear illegal immigration.

Trump the troll reflects a people fed up with what they perceive to be the PC nonsense that the Left inflicts upon the country (i.e., my comment that his popularity is in part evidence that the Left is despised by many).

What makes Hilary good person to lead the country? Specifically

I don't know, I've never voted for her and would vote for Sanders in a primary. But why not HRC ? She's been elected to the Senate twice was Sec of State and has worked in public service in children's issues. I agree with much of what she says

I strongly disagree with 99% of (R) candidates ideas and positions but would n't call them pathetic simply because we disagree. Trump,Carson etal have far more qualifications to be POTUS than any of us here

and that same small sample still believes Obama is a Manchurian Candidate.

No votes have been cast. Remember, we were talking about Hubert Cane and Michelle Bachmann 4 years ago

I understand. But 57, we can't honestly look at all the blogs, and websites, and memes, and media personalities, etc., that are even posted by us all here and think that they don't just fuel this very hatred. In other words, we ought to look in the mirror. And when a candidate from the other party soars in popularity when it makes no sense to us - then maybe we should look in the mirror more closely. These candidates - Clinton, Trump and the like are an indictment against us.[/QUOTE]

Yes.

One is a liar, the other is a media hog. One is a communist socialist maniac.

Carson is 75% Rep and 25% Dem but because he has an (R) the white Dems won't vote for him even though he would probably listen to them more than anyone since Clinton.

The only thing Dems don't like and this bothers me is abortion and SSM. Like that is important for our country at this time. I care more about black on black crime, black graduation rates, blacks in the workplace, none of that has been properly address and we have a black president, these things he promise to address.

57 is an atheist and hate anything Republican.

That is widely known.

He wants a communist nation, China like if it was up to him.

None of those things give him the right to draft me for something like that. We've talked about how long I'd last in any sort of political venue. If I'm gonna get shot I can think of things I'd prefer it be for. ;)

In general I hate this field. I'm clearly for Hillary Clinton although I probably would have supported Biden if he had run. I can't vote for Sanders though. I don't like socialism and I dislike both conservative an liberal populism. If somehow Sanders won the nomination, I might have to vote Republican for the first time in the 35 years of my life. I don't hate Bush, and I don't hate Christie. Of course if Sanders and one of the right wing yahoos won, I might just have to not vote.

For those on the left and right, remember that those votes who will normally go to your party are not necessarily guaranteed. If moderate parts of your party hate the nominee, they could defect. It's not just the standard undecideds.

Generally my feelings. I don't mind the occasional populist impulse, but at some point the numbers have to add up and neither pole of the political debate seems to have figured that out. As a former professional Democrat, it's difficult for me to admit that I would have a hard time voting for Sanders. I actually think of all the people running, Kasich would make the best President.

I rather have him than Carson, but that ain't happening, you are talking about Americans and how stupid we are.

1. Liar
2. Communist/Socialist
3. No political history and would be eaten alive
4. Egomaniac

That is our choices.

Ugghhhhh!

That is also true of the moderates. It's why the 2 party system fails. At a minimum we need 4 parties to represent the opinions of a lot of the American voter base.

First for the conservative side the far right and religious right. I'll kind of lump them together because in general they seem to wind up that way. Then your more moderates the "RINOs" if you would. Which would be your money grabbers like Romney, Bush, or Christie. Who're for reducing government compared to their left companions, but not for effectively eliminating government aside from the military like their far right folks want. THen for Liberals you have the same basic thing.

Sanders never claimed to be a Communist.

I'm not a Sanders fan, but for me he's the guy from the big field I want to win. For a few reasons.

1. He's the only person standing up against the 1%. He's the only one standing up against Wall Street. He's the only one standing against Citizen's United. Everyone else just falling in rank and file to their big pocket donors.

2. He is one of the only people with a plan running. Granted I think the plan is foolish, but he's the only one talking dollars and cents this early on. Everyone else is still living in rhetoric land.

3. It would be fun to have a Jewish president. Would bring me a small glimmer of hope that we're evolving as a country.

I'm not for Sanders for a number of reasons as well.

1. He's not anti-Military as much as me. He's not an aggressor like BUsh or Obama, but he isn't a non-interventionist like Stein/Johnson.

2. I cannot get behind college for all. It doesn't make sense to me to raise tax dollars so people won't enter the work force until they're 22-23. What's the next step? PHDs, MDs, etc. for all? College is important and plays a role. But what we need is a president who shakes up the whole college foundation. We need massive work done on our system, and throwing money at it is akin to using money to put out a fire.

3. We don't need to raise corporate income tax. We need to cut it and cut loopholes. One of the myths spread by Sanders supporters I've argued with on facebook is our effective corporate tax rate is one of the lowest, when we're higher than the OECD average. The issue isn't the collecting of it, the issue is the really big boys who aren't paying it. Raising the corporate tax rate just would hurt successful small businesses. The corporate income tax is pretty crazy if you think of it.
