Freeman Trade Speculation

I would look to see if the Astros would consider trading A.J. Reed for Freeman.

Then the Cardinals are hurting a little bit on the pitching side with Lance Lynn being hurt, trade Teheran to them for Piscotty.

Talking about Freeman trade partners that could make sense

Houston Astros: Chris Carter provides power but hit .199 and the Astros could use a left-handed bat to help balance out Jose Altuve, George Springer and Carlos Correa. They have plenty of room to add payroll. First-base prospect A.J. Reed, who hit .340 with 34 home runs in the minors between Class A and Double-A, may be the real deal but would be bait to get the sure thing in Freeman.

The Simmons trade made sense because of Albies. Sounds like the staff thinks he'll be the starting SS in 17. The whole point I think was that Coppy is hoping the team will be better with Albies, Newsom and Ellis in 17 and beyond rather than just having Simmons.

I don't think we have anyone behind Freeman outside of the really young guys like maybe Riley and Yepez.

Jason Heyward always said Freddie Free.

Free the dude seriously. This is not fair to him.

I'll probably hate the moves, but you gotta trade the rest of these guys now.

The Astros prospects do look alot better that the Cardinals. With no replacement behind him he may not go this offseason.

Might as well trade him off. This team is going to be terrible for awhile. The only team in the history of baseball who cuts payroll and purposely tries to make themselves worse before moving into a brand new stadium. Awesome line of thinking.

Jerks.

I'm not there yet. IF they re-invest with FA, I'm OK with it.

As long as they fill long term needs (which means bringing in young controllable bats) it's the best use of current assets.

Flip everyone and punt a few seasons. No point in keeping anyone at all. Hell, let's move the team to Montreal while we're at it.

I've decided to go on a hunger strike until Freddie is freed.

Be sure to give us a daily update on everything you don't eat on each given day. We want to make sure we give you your own thread when you keel over.

Yeah trade him. Why not? They can restock the pond so they can entertain themselves making more trades. I think they'd be pretty bored if they had a good team and couldn't make as many trades selling off the present for the future.

Since Dombroski is trying to remake the RSox, what do you all think about for an H Ramirez for Markakis IF it also nets you Moncada or Devers? You play Ramirez at SS OR 3B. The net payroll difference is $11M adder per year for the next three years plus a potential option on Ramirez.

I doubt the Sox would do it. But, then, I didn't think they would pay what they did to get Kimbrel and they sure seem to want Ramirez out of there.
