Supposedly Kirby Smart has been waiting for that job to open.

That's certainly a very desirable job though.

Only thing that could really screw this up is if Clemson loses to UNC. Then you have OSU, Bama, Big 10 winner, OU, UNC, and Clemson all with legitimate claims to a top 4 spot.

OU is in, Bama is in assuming they prison rape Florida, B1G winner is in, leaving the last spot for OSU/UNC/Clemson.

Call me a homer, i think if UNC beats Clemson, they should get in if you're gonna reward conference champions. Not to mention the ACC has 3-4 top 10 teams, leaving out a P5 champ is an awful look. If UNC won.

Dont see how Stanford would make it over OSU, Clemson or UNC if all have 1 loss and Stanford has 2 losses.

UNC would in this scenario have one good win. Sure they are 11-1 right now, but who have the actually beaten? The committee claims they emphasize winning your conference so having Stanford in over Clemson and Ohio State is reasonable. I would say winning the PAC 12 is much better over the ACC especially if it's UNC who wins it.

Coincidence that Les Miles kept his job last night. Guess we know who offered Jimbo fisher the best deal

Huh?

I'm not sure why you keep suggesting this. Fisher is not leaving FSU, unless he is running from possible NCAA sanctions.

I think Clemson wins anyway but if UNC does win, they'll have an argument.

I think firing Richt will cost McGarity his job in a few years. I think Georgia has about a 1% chance of getting a better HC than Richt. I think there's a better than 50% chance Georgia goes downhill big time like when Tennessee fired Fulmer.

Richt still had a ton of fan and booster support. If Georgia hits any kind of skid in the next few years a lot of people will be asking McGarity why he fired Richt.

Personally, I expect the next head coach to struggle worse than Richt. I think Smart is Muschamp version 2. And I would wager McGarity is toast when the next HC fails.

Really sucks that OSU isn't going to get in... they are a top 4 and I'd frankly put them in over Mich St. if they are trying to get the best 4 in.

I also think Mich St is better tha OU... So my top 4 would be:

1. Clemons
2. Alabama
3. Mich St
4. OSU

Assuming Mich St. beats Iowa of course

Lol Ohio State is better than MSU?

lol MSU beat OSU at the Shoe without Cook.

OSU's best win is over 3-loss Michigan.

OU's been on fire as of late and won their conference.

It will Bama assuming they beat UF, OU, B1G winner, and it should be winner of Clemson/UNC in with a win.

OSU beat 3 bowl teams all year.

I'm aware MSU beat OSU... I'm not one who automatically assumes that makes a team better. Hey! I guess that means that Virginia Tech was better than OSU last year! Or maybe it was more of a fluke.

I think Mich St is very good... but they lost to a bad Nebrask team. Yes I know, bad call at the end... but they should've never been in position there and still let them drive 91 yards in 38 seconds.

They also beat Michigan on the perhaps the flukiest play I've ever seen... Michigan a team that Ohio State just obliterated.

Just my personal opinion is all.

I think Ohio State is definitely one of the 5 or 6 best teams. But you can't put them in the top 4 when they lost to Michigan State and the rest of the schedule was basically trash. 7 of the teams OSU played didn't even finish the regular season with a winning record. And 2 of the ones that did have winning records were MAC schools. Their only good win is Michigan.

OU on the other hand has played 3 teams that were legitimate top 4 playoff contenders until they played OU. And they beat an 8 win Tennessee team on the road. They definitely deserve their top 4 ranking.
