why.. go back to June and the Uribe trade... That should make you feel a whole lot better..

This would be great. Hopefully we could get Barnes in the deal. Or at least some other prospect in their 5-10 range, which would be a good one since their system is loaded.
I have little doubt we give up too much. Shelby plus a decent prospect. Seriously, we would. But I think we get more than just Joc.I just don't trust the Dodgers

We would have to throw more into the deal. In fact, it's likely we'd have to add a little more than Miller in order to land Pederson.
I do like the idea of fielding a future lineup with 2 Petersons and a Pederson.
Yeah that's a good point. For real. Don't want another Wood type trade to happen.
I did not know that, but I will take your word for it. I would bet they use a WAR stat that is weighted differently than what we see.

As these FA pitchers keep getting taken, teams will come begging the Braves to give up some of this controllable pitching talent we have. Be patient guys.
I'm just saying that the value between the two is at best pretty similar. So there is little chance of getting Pederson plus for just Miller.
I agree with trying to get Barnes. With Pederson that would maybe make Mallex expendable.
What if it's for Joc Pederson? Reports are that we've discussed it, and I think we'd be crazy not to give Miller up for him.

Dodgers are rumored to want to clear payroll- Wonder if we could sweeten our return by offering to taken on half of Crawfords contract? They are in the luxury tax so it would save them 15 million per year and cost us 10 million a year for two years before he's off the books. I would definitely do it if it increased our return for Shelby to let us get 1-2 good prospects along with Joc. Not Urias or Seager type but a tier below. We have virtually nothing on the books that will be even relatively expensive except Freeman and Markakis.
Or Mallex can play a corner spot. Their have been concerns in regards to his routes to balls and such. You don't move a talent like Joc to accommodate Mallex, not with the existing questions about his defense.
