Braves prospect Swanson arrives early, excited for 1st spring training

Dansby Swanson will share a locker with fellow shortstop prospect Ozzie Albies at spring training, the projected future of the Braves’ up-the-middle defense getting acquainted in close quarters for at least the opening weeks of camp.

“I just heard he’s a really good guy, “Swanson said, smiling, “and that he’s pretty darn good. So that’s a good combination.”

It's starting.

I would have thought a Vandy guy would have more than one adjective in his vocabulary. At least he changed up from really to pretty darn.

I'm one of the ones who think JTs knee was bothering him last year. He had a comebacker hit to him and he tweaked his knee getting out of the way. He wasn't the same pitcher for a long time after that. He says he was fine but a lot of players play through injuries.

Agreed... Even though he never admitted it... He looked dominate before that come backer. Something changed there...

This is correct. He also pitched much better in the second half.

Bowman will have the last laugh in 2018 when the Braves win 110 games and every kid under the age of 18 in the Atlanta area is wearing a t-shirt with the phrase "Reason to Believe!" in big white letters. With Bowman's portrait on the back, of course.

I hope it's a black t-shirt because, well, black is slimming.
