Braves purchase contract of Frenchy.

Slash line over the past 3 years: 229 / 262 / 363. Below average corner OF defense and only usable as an emergency CF.

I hope it works out for us, but that's a lot of downside to overlook in order to add a solid clubhouse presence and fan favorite to the roster.

yes, but his competition was not any better. taking the hand we are dealt. just hope Frediot uses him in the right situations to build some sort of value.. trade him and Bourn and hope for the best the rest of the season. Hopefully this is the last year for this team to dumpster dive.

If you told me 6 years ago that Francouer would be on our opening day roster and that J-Hey wouldn't I would have cut your body parts up, throw a high school cheerleader outfit on it, put some mustard on it and fed you to zeets.

If it had a high school cheerleader's outfit on it, zeets would have probably asked to do something else with it before he ate it.

The Francoeur decision doesn't make much sense, but in a lost season, what's wrong with having something else for people to gripe about.

However, since he's embraced a bench roll, he's been pretty good situational player... as a pinch hitter and a spell starter. He also has a career .782 OPS against lefties.

This is so much better than Bonofacio. We don't need him with Beckham, Peterson, Mallex, etc.

French is RH with some power. He can play ok at the corners. He will be a PH. We need RH pinch hitters.

IF he puts together a solid PH role, then he's the type of guy you can flip at the deadline for a future pen arm or the like. If he sucks, he doesn't cost much money. I like this move.
