Hurt his elbow sliding head first yesterday. Injury will require surgery, no word yet on how long he will be out. Almost devastating injury for them.

Just random Twitter speculation, but looks like recovery time for an injury like this can be as little as two months. Really surprised it's that quick. Saw where LaRussa said they'd consider getting Owings time in CF. They'd be smart to latch on to someone like Stubbs who can platoon with Socrates Brito (best name in MLB?) in CF. But it's LaRussa and Stewart we're talking here, so there's no guarantee they'll handle this in a "smart" way.

Pretty tough injury for Arizona right away. They are going to be behind the power curve in the west right off the bat you would think.

If i'm not mistaken, they had a guy that was borderline to make their team as a back up in case Tomas didn't produce...He may get the nod instead and then sign someone like a Bourn, who could bring some veteran presence to their line up. In fact Bourn makes a lot of sense for them right now. Someone they can get on the cheap and who can play for a few months

Markakis to Arz would be tempting depending on the offer, they are in win now mode.

Huge blow. They do have Socrates Brito who's a good looking young player to step in. He's actually the guy I wanted in the Shelby deal before I knew Inciarte was possible. Brito is a good player

yeah this just allows them to play Brito. and he'll prob take over Tomas' spot when Pollock is back.

Slip them Bourn for a Class A lefty and make sure they eat most of his contract. Genius!
