4/25 GDT vs Red Sox: LOL Freddy

Freeman doesn't think much of the replay crew in NY. I wonder if he gets fined for his comments.

Seriously, where do you come up with this stuff? FYI, the team ranks #29 in hits, so they are most definitely NOT getting plenty of hits.

4/20 vs. Stripling - 7 hits, 3 runs

4/21 vs. Kershaw - 11 hits, 1 run

4/22 vs. Harvey - 10 hits, 3 runs

4/23 vs. Matz - 10 hits, 2 runs

4/24 vs. deGrom - 12 hits, 2 runs

That's 50 hits in 5 games with 11 runs to show for them. Freddie went 0-5 (4 Ks), 1-4 (1 K), 1-5 (2 Ks), 2-4 (1 RBI, 2 Ks), and 0-4. That's 4-22 with 9 Ks and I'm not even using a calculator or spreadsheet. The guys hitting in front of him (Markakis, Castro, and Aybar) were on base 22 times - 2-8 (2 BBs), 3-10, 1-8 (2 BBs), 3-8, 6-10 - over that period and Freeman drove in ONE run.

What games have you been watching???

That is the best brightside argument I can spin too.[/QUOTE

Is next years draft even worth a number 1 pick? Can't say that I would love to see us tank this bad just to get a pick. To my knowledge there is no chipper or Strasberg or Harper , etc

It's too early to say how good having that pick will be IMO. But it's always better to pick first than later even in weaker drafts. Regardless, we are not contending for playoffs this year either way. When that's clear I am fine with tanking but I wouldn't throw games by not challenging plays we should, etc. Not that we did that, our situation is worse because it seems Rob Smith is a blind man (he's the one telling Fredi what he sees on replays to challenge) and Fredi is an idiot making for a bad combination. Plus Fredi doesn't back nor listen to his players which bothers me a lot too.

I just hate to see bad baseball by has been baseball players. If we are going to tank, let your young guys come up and play. Glavine smoltz and Avery got their heads bashed in before becoming great pitchers.

Chipper wasn't some no-doubt generational talent like Harper. He was just a #1 overall pick, just like next year's pick will be, no matter who it is. Most thought Van Poppel should be taken 1 in that draft.

There will be some really good talent in the draft, you can rest assured of that. Heck, the Astros got Correa on the cheap at #1 because he was considered not to be worthy of that high a slot.

This is not the first time this week that Fredi has let an appeal slide. He just doesn't care. It is TIME. Send the Cubs a prospect for David Ross and name him manager before the weekend. Or Eddie Perez, if you want to go on the cheap. Don't think there's a loyalty issue there.

There is no benefit to bringing guys up before they're ready. We just have to be patient and know this year will be terrible and means very little, at the major league level, for our future. It is what it is.
