Pastornicky

.669 OPS in AA and AAA this year. Vomit.

Why not LaStella.

Doesnt affect his contract status, is 24, what more does he need to do?

Or maybe working on a trade.

Gosselin makes very little sense. He is pretty terrible (has some success against LHP).

Agreed, can only hope this is a couple day fix and they trade for a second baseman.

If this is what is filing in for Uggla, we're in trouble.

Uggla has been worth less than a win this year. Not like we've gotten much from 2B before now.

I would say La Stealla for the time being while searching waiver wire.

The Braves must be close to making a trade, if so that would explain Gosselin instead of La Stella. Gosselin is someone they can add to the 40-man and then drop from it without any issues.

That said, I hate losing Pastornicky for the season. This is bad news and even worse since we'd already lost Pena, etc.

I wouldn't hate Michael Young but he hasn't played 2B in awhile.

Hell Medlen could play some second base in a pinch, I'm sure. It has to be us getting close to a trade because I'd take a 50-year-old one-legged Chipper over Gosselin.

With less than 60 days left in the season, can players still be moved to the 60 day DL? If so, there are a few guys (Hudson, Martinez, Pena, even Pastor) on the 40 man that could be moved to the 60 day DL to clear a spot

That's true, but they might like to save an extra spot or two just in case. It also depends on how many they plan to add to the 40-man come Sept. too.

I think it's safe to say Janish is our starting second baseman now. But we better make a move soon to change that.
