Are the Braves the worst team in baseball?

It seems silly to ask the question; we are 10-30, we've been outscored by 74 runs....... but we started with an incredibly tough schedule.

The Twins are also 10-30 and the Reds, although they're 15-26, actually have the worst run differential in baseball at -77.

Twins, Braves or Reds; which is worst?

I'm not prepared to say we're the worst, just because the schedule has been so unforgiving. That said, we are going to be playing a disproportionate number of games again stronger competition, owing to our more competitive division. So we've got a shot.

On paper, I think we are clearly the worst. Twins have been disappointing because all of their holes have shown up big-time. Terrible bullpen and starting pitching has way underperformed. But they should be able to hit as the season wears on. Sano is the real deal and Mauer--although he is now pretty much a singles hitter--is still a decent player. I still don't like the Kang signing, but he is a true power hitter. Buxton and Rosario who were both expected to contribute are back in AAA. My guess is Buxton will be back soon, but Rosario may not be.

Reds also just have more better players at the big league level--Votto, Bruce, Phillips--than we do.

I realize amount of talent and application of talent are two entirely different things, but from the raw manpower perspective, I think we are the worst team in baseball.

I know the Phils are playing out of their minds, but I don't think they are very good either.

I know the Twins aren't great, but I still don't think they're this bad. Hopefully they get hot soon.

The Reds are brutal. I really think they're our biggest competitor for the top pick.

The thing with the Reds is that their pitching is just brutal from top-to-bottom.

It's a pretty genius tanking strategy, especially in the bullpen. If something happens and you actually have a late lead, you've got those guys back there to blow it.

You didn't even mention the team I consider the worst: San Diego.

They have had a schedule fill with sorry teams much of the time, have been shut out NINE times. I strongly feel the Braves will have a better record than the Padres at year's end.

They will be in the hunt for the bottom five records in baseball. They do have some pieces they will likely trade at the deadline. Curious to see what the offers will be for Shields. Melvin and Kemp may draw some interest if the Padres send money along with them. Even with the unexpected resurrection of Melvin, the Padres are still pretty bad. Their minor league depth doesn't look that great at the upper levels, so if moving Shields can net them a few prospects (but not quite the haul they got for Kimbrel), my guess is that will happen sooner than later. Melvin and Kemp could easily be replaced by Margot and Renfroe.

I think that's true because all the other teams are better than us.

PS - We need a Coppy emoji. Preferably the shot of him hunkered down in the corner of the dugout like a little badger. Also a shot of Hart playing golf.

Reds have the worst team WAR. Braves have the 2nd worst I believe. I think it will be a close race though. The Braves positional players are the worst in baseball and that's not going to change anytime soon. Their pitching has been improved but with so many young guys we can have a string like we did last week where everyone put up a quality start or we can have the Pirates series where almost all of them **** the bed. So I feel that is going to continue to be up or down. When they are good we will have a chance to win some games and when they aren't there will be virtually zero chance. Our lineup is that bad.

Absolutely not, I mean, look at it. Bad teams don't accomplish anything, look what we did in the 90's and the early 2000's, that's not bad, those we're great times. That's not the worst. Even when you think things are bad like they are right now, they are better than they are for any other team.
