Around MLB 2016 style

I tend to think this season is a little bit smoke and mirrors buttressed by a .390 BABIP that he simply won't be able to maintain long term. If he settles into a normal .330 or so, all of a sudden his batting line would look more like .270/.340/.440 which is still good for a CF'er but hardly the monster numbers he's put up so far

He had the high BABIP last year also, though... he just keeps sustaining it.

Random thought: I was thinking earlier about the people who said Harper is better than Trout. Harper's had a rough year, but it's still the silliest thing.

Trout has the big advantage of providing above avg defense in CF and elite defense in the corners AND is the superior base runner. Harper can hang with him bat to bat, but total package wise, Trout is a better player.

congrats to cory gearrin.

yesterday in colorado he made his first major league plate appearance in his five seasons and got a hit. he could end up tying some career batting records held by many...

Harper is hitting .242/.415/.535 and it is considered a "rough year?"

Does anyone know what the record for lowest BABIP is for a full season? Harper is currently sitting at .227

spoiler, still the right move to trade him.

never said anything of the contrary. I just pointing out how well he did. I liked him when we signed him and I still think he will be more valuable from when we did trade him.. but I can't blame them from selling when they did.. and like others of said, it would be nice to see one of our managers let our young guys work through some innings..

A guy like Chacin was never going to have much more value than he delivered. GM's , generally, aren't dumb and they know what they are buying and the limits they are willing to go. a Guy with his history both production and injury wise just is never going to be that valuable.

It was dumb to sell Chacin for as cheap as we did... He was pitching well and has continued to do so in LA. He would have gotten a better piece if we had more patience

how much better?
what if he gets hurt or blows up?
we got him for nothing. we weren't getting a lot for him either way.

What are you expecting from a bottom rotation starter, a top 100 prospect?

Trout has also been way more consistent offensively. 167 WRC+ to 176 WRC+ since 2012.
