A Collection of Simba Awesomeness

What's Andrelton's dWAR, since Janish is his replacement player?

Janish ain't no slouch at SS... or am I not understanding this WAR thing.

WAR uses the average value of a replacement player, not specific ones. So there's a level of play assigned to what we think a "freely available replacement player" (about equivalent to a top-of-the-line AAA player) would produce.

The thing that still amazes me about that play, was that aside from not being in a position to make that play cleanly, he was wheeling to cover third basically up until the ball was hit. Then of course the throw was spectacular (and props to Freddie for digging that out, not the easiest throw.

Some guy was question Busters tweet then he tweeted this.

As GMs will tell you, @MikeAngelina: Preventing a run equals hitting a solo homer. It's a zero sum game.

According to @FieldingBible Andrelton Simmons is up to 37 runs saved, most in a season since Baseball Info Solutions has kept track

In his first 168 games of his career, Simmons has saved an insane 56 runs, @FieldingBible says. More saves for this guy than Kimbrel!

There are no more words to describe the level of Simba awesomeness. If this guy improves his hitting some more than holy crap. Braves should be able to sign this guy now for a discount. 8 years 50 million dollars please.

The best part about that play is that he starts his slide so as soon as his right leg hits the ground its the start of the dirt.

There are no words to describe how good Simmons is at SS.

ESPN's Sweet Spot argues for a top-5 MVP selection for Andrelton:

While it would be cool, he shouldn't be that high. Barring a last of the month batting jump from him of course never know what can happen.

He's not even one of the 10 best players in the NL right now, not including pitchers.

NL MVP right now should be Cutch, and then rounding out the top 5 Wright, Gomez, Goldschmidt, and Votto. Coudl consider Sliding in Carpenter or Yadier if you want to eliminate the guys who aren't on winning teams.

Yeah I go Cutch or Goldy.
