Aybar has played better as of late. He can have some trade value if we eat the remainder of his contract. The Royals make some sense.
I think he's in arbitration next year...Flip him!
Ahh, over the last 6 games, he is 1 for 19, with 8 strikeouts and no walks, not to mention his putrid average of .212, OPS of .532 with the glowing WAR of -1.1 for the year. We could eat all his remaining $2.7MM of his contract and still be lucky to get a bag of worn out balls.
What % do you put on each of these players finishing the year in a braves' uniform?
Beckham
Frenchy
Aybar
Jim Johnson
Teheran
Viz
Aybar has history of success.. So any rebound is more value than a prospect getting hot. Now I agree, there is not much value with Aybar and if we have to eat his salary to get a lottery ticket, then it might just be better to keep him and let him play it out in ATL.
for what? he doesn't hold a ton of value. I would just hang on to him and if he flames out.. who cares.

Why? Win totals don't mean anything this year and he's a FA.
I tend to agree. I know I have the reputation for wanting to trade everybody. But, that's not true. I want to maximize the value of everyone with an eye on realistically expecting competing in 2018 and beyond.
I probably would take a low level prospect for Harrell as long as that prospect was reasonably well regarded. Certainly wouldn't expect a top 100 type guy. But, a Rookie League guy who was maybe a top 15 young International signing from 2015 would do, a guy a long, long way away with a lot of development left but some undeniable talent.
Outside of that, I would just as soon hang on to him and see if he can continue to increase his value...
