7/20 MINOR LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: What A Day in the System!

Double, single and walk so far tonight.
I constantly see people think he's a 4th OF...or just good enough. I'll take what he's doing at the MLB level right now. He definitely is one of the position players above A that has a clue when he's at the plate (Albies, Swanson....). I really like Dustin. He's young too...I think those underrating him will be pleasantly surprised.

Isn't that what chipper did? HOF maybe?

Chipper's first knee injury was a non-contact injury. He landed awkwardly while attempting to avoid a tag while running to first in a spring training game against the Yankees. I was there.

The injury later in his career came when he attempted to make a jump throw from deep behind third base. Again, he landed wrong.

I like him too. I don't know if he'll ever be a top-tier guy, but there are a lot of ways to score runs. I'd like to see him hit a few more HRs, but that might come. If he could develop into an effective RHH half of a platoon in LF and brush up on his 3B, he could really be a helpful part on a successful team.

I've watched Peterson a few times in person and he seems to barrel the ball up every time and hit it hard.

I don't think Peterson will be a star, but he has a decent chance of being an average starting corner outfielder. Plenty of value in that.

I do think you need some stars to get into the playoffs. The guys who I think will play that role include Freeman, Teheran, Albies, Acuna, Swanson, Soroka and Allard. Plus one or two others may develop into better players than they currently project.

Hey scapi, I was going to ask if you've seen Acuna. He's the real deal. Looks like a ballplayer...confident. I got to shake his hand and tell him I like his game. He said "thanks, I'm working hard...." He has star or close to it potential and if he realizes it, he will be in the majors.

Have not seen him in person. I usually see Rome when they come up to Lakewood, but that's not happening this year.

Last year I gave a report on: Albies, Tanner Murphy (MEH), Braxton (just...ok), Povse, Edgerton (MEH), Toussaint (What an arm)....this year I was going to do Allard, Acuna, Riley, Toussaint, Weigel...but I haven't had time. I will say that the Rome Braves are amazing to watch. Not necessarily for wins, but for the collective talent. Awesome.
