But, Riley can play third base, is athletic, and hitting just as well (I think better) than Naylor at the same age and level. If I was the teaming trading a player and could improve the major league roster, I would not hesitate to trade Riley either.

It isn't about hesitating to trade guys like Riley. It's trading them for low quality major league players is why moves like this that make these moves questionable. I know the market is thin but still, this deal is not very likely to be a real difference maker for the Marlins, yet they gave up two of their best prospects.

Just think what you could get if you were actually willing to part with a difference maker...
