GDT: BRAVES @ NITS 8/12/16

I realize my bias but in terms of stuff, I just don't see a huge difference between the godlike Steven Strasburg and the pedestrian Folty.

There isn't a huge difference in terms of stuff. Strasburg has just shown more consistency (been in the league longer which obviously helps) and Folty tends to be a mental midget at times which drives up his ERA.

What am I missing about Recker? Career OPS over 800 in the minors and it looks like he never really got a chance at the MLB level.

So why not? I realize he isn't going to be a 900 OPS catcher, but he look like he's better than half the crap we see occupying the catcher position nowadays.

If Markakis is starting in RF next year I am going to lose my mind. At least move him to LF, he is so slow and has a terrible arm for RF.

Neck has to catch that. How it wasn't scored an error is beyond me. Let's see if it sends Folty into one of his meltdowns.

To include the other crap playing catcher on the Braves roster.

Folty makes me so irrationally mad. Jesus dude. Just make the pitches needed. He wasn't horrible, but he can't just finish hitters off.

In my opinion the most encouraging part of Kemp's game since becoming a Brave is his willingness to take walks. That was the main thing keeping his OBP so low in SD I think.

Freddie is so good. Even if we waste his prime with this garbage, I'm so glad we didn't trade him.

Say what you will about the strategy, but the Braves have been aces on picking which guys to keep (Freddie and Teheran) and which ones to trade away (Upton, Heyward, and Kimbrel).
