Upgrading announcers?

With the history of the Carey's in Atl Chip isn't going anywhere. Unless the Cubs forgive him and come calling. I honestly think his hearts up there. Joe is fine, I like the change in him since he has aged. Calls it as he sees it whether the fans or the Braves organization for that matter like it or not.

I find the games with Glavine the only ones listenable. I don't know, maybe just because Chip & Joe seem to have very little chemistry, and otherwise tend to repeat the same discussions. Tommy at least throws a curveball at them. Or more likely a circle-change...

Too bad Boog Sciambi left for ESPN though, he and Joe had a decent rapport it seemed and I actually liked the old school/new school dynamic they had.

They're terrible, but honestly they're more like The Room terrible than The Phantom Menace terrible.

I miss the days when people here actually watched the games and the GDTs were full of us taking the piss out of Chip's awfulness.

He was great, and he didn't cater to the worst of Joe Simpson like Chip does.

"Cater" perfectly describes Chip's relationship with Joe. Chip is like a lap dog looking for a pat on the head from his master, especially when punch-and-judy hitters are involved.

I like Chip. A lot.

But the radio team is really good to listen to as well.

Powell and Sutton are a great team. Powell does a more than serviceable play by play, and Sutton is a natural storyteller with enough humor to see why he did so well with Skip back in the TBS days. My minor complaint is that are both sometimes a little too understated in their play by play: a walk, a strikeout, a homer, etc., are sometimes described in an identical manner.

We all have our opinions, and that's fine. I would like to see how Simpson and Sutton would be together. I really liked Sutton when he was on TV before, and I like Joe's demeanor on the air. Not afraid to say so when things don't add up, respectful of other teams and players, but tells it like it is when they act like spoiled kids.

I really wish Chip would stop trying to be Skip and Harry. He isn't, and it comes across as corny when he tries to mimic them.

I think my favorite team over the years was Boog and Joe. Wish we could go that way again.

I never can seem to stay current on contemporary slang.

I do as well—but I feel like that was a lot easier when the team on the field was a watchable product. When things are going reasonably well, Chip & Joe might simply be tearing us apart, Lisa; but when the team's as bad as it's been the last two seasons, they're not even half-hour pod-race bad, they're this bad:

Yeah it was much better when the city of Atlanta had a major league team. The suckage has drained a lot out of us. The extra inning affair with Pittsburgh was amazing though.
