Nick Markakis trade?

I know Sabermetrics may prove me wrong but I think Nick Markakis has been fairly productive in his time with the braves, and coppy seems to be creative when putting a trade together.. besides just eating his salary is there a way the braves could get a useful piece for the rebuild by using Nick Markakis in some sort of trade package.. not just him alone? opinions and feedback

thanks,

I don't know if they put Markakis on waivers or not, but I would think that a contender might be interested. Thinking either the Orioles or Tigers could use him.

I was thinking the Marlins since Stanton is out. May be Nick and JJ with us eating the remaining of their 2016 salary could net us Castillo.

The Orioles are pretty stacked, I'm not sure how it makes sense for them. They have a hard time getting everyone in the lineup now.

That is one way for the Marlins GM to get fired.

we can't trade JJ anyway. he was claimed already and would never clear waivers.

I just wonder if they already tried to push Neck through waivers? I personally don't think he would clear.. but wouldn't be surprised if he did.

I think you're the only person who doesn't think Markakis would clear waivers. He is pretty much a guaranteed lock to clear if he hasn't already.

Having said that, I also think the Braves consider him a core piece for 2017. I would be shocked if the opening day OF in 2017 didn't consist of Kemp, Markakis and one of Inciarte or Mallex. I can see them adding a RHed hitting CFer to semi-platoon with Mallex or Ender (which should be a no-brainer move), but that's about it as far as OF additions go.

It's a wheel of trades (not to be confused with wheel of fortune). The first one landed on was wedged between lose a turn and bankruptcy and had a card on it labeled 1/2 a Trout.

Surprised Wieters made it through with him being a FA. Surely the Indians could have used him.
