Appy State is no cake walk. Came in ranked 43 preseason, ahead of several SEC teams. Appy was impressive to me and, imo, will easily make a bowl game.

That being said, we EASILY were way more talented and were also playing at home. Not that Butch has ever been considered a great in game coach, but he got out-coached big time tonight. A win is a win, but Tenn gonna have to step it up if they wanna make noise this year. They played flat all night, beating themselves with poor play (and poor play calling) on offense all night. Not gonna beat more talented teams playing like they did tonight.

V-Tech won't be easy either. A lot of Vol fans are looking past them, but I love their new coach and they have some real talent.

Edit: disregard the statement about Vegas odds. I don't kno where I got that from.

Knew app was gonna give them all they wanted. Solid team but UT looks to have been served too much of the kool aid. Overrated

Could be a serious letdown season for Tennessee. All these expectations and they can't even get up for their season opener in Knoxville. I suspect they win by 2 touchdowns tonight, but not a good start if you are a Vols fan.

What is just amazing to me, is how every year we hear UGA and Tennessee are back, and they annually underperform. Where is the love for Florida?

43 ranking is the highest I've seen. Most sites have them in the mid 50's.

App is a solid team, but how do they hang with Tenn without the ability to complete a forward pass, lol?

Tenn was extremely lucky to beat a good P5 school. Dobbs looked awful. The OL and DL were abused by App State; again, how does that happen? If Tenn couldn't figure out how to block App States DL, they must be in fear over Dadi and the VT line. (Though VT is not a good team overall)

I think App State is going to be getting fewer and fewer of these marquee games in the future. They are playing too well and are going to scare teams away.

App State hosts Miami this season still. @Georgia and home against Wake Forest in 2017 and @Penn State in 2018.
