2016 Postseason Thread

Heyward just can't stay inside the ball. He casts his top hand out around the ball on every single swing. He works on staying inside on all his warmup swings and it just doesn't carry over to his actual swings.

Maybe Francona should have carried an extra 1B to serve as a defensive replacement for the water buffalo he has playing over there. Could have been shades of Bill Buckner.

I would describe it differently - his swing is rotational rather than taking the butt of the bat to the baseball - but we're seeing the same thing. And it's ruining his swing. I want that arm tucked in close to the body and his is about as diametrically opposite that objective as possible.

Jon Hamm troll game strong to quite strong

showed up at game 3 wearing a cards hat and it's the hat the cards wore in 1908

Francona going with Kluber on 3 days rest?

Yep. I like it. He purposefully took him out earlier than he perhaps otherwise would have in Game 1, and he wasn't really stressed at all in that one. So he should be ready, and going against Lackey instead of Lester gives the Indians better odds of winning it. And if they do win it, the series is all but over.

Francona is pretty masterful. Got more than 4 good innings out of Tomlin (and got him out after only 58 pitches, making him easily available for Game 6), then let Miller get through the heart of their order once. Took him out after only throwing 17 pitches and put in Crisp, who got the game-winning RBI. Then had Allen ready for the last time through the heart of Chicago's order.

He is the best manager in baseball, and it's not close.

The early hook for Tomlin might also have been influenced by the fact he too will likely be coming back on three days rest.

When you're behind you don't make defensive substitutions.

Not sure if it was defense or not. Soler doesnt hit righties well and would likely be facing them rest of way. But then again he started Soler vs righty.

Funny thing is game would likely have still been tied if Heyward starts. He catches the Crisp ball with ease.

Indians did what they had to do and stole a game bc thr Cubs couldnt hit Tomlin with wind blowing out. They are going to have to

Steal ine back vs Kluber.
