You realize no one knew anything about this until the NFL held a press conference to tell everyone about their investigation and findings right? No current or former Saint player has ever admitted to pay for injury. The only coach who ever admitted it was Mike Cerullo who was the NFL's source and had an axe to grind after being fired for lying to miss work. Right here we have a player admitting to pay for injury and nothing will be done about it. Thats more evidence than they had on the Saints. Its more widely known than the Saints bounty was before the NFL announced it to the world. Lets not also forget that every Saints player was vindicated in a court of law.

Not quite, but you're correct that the NFL instigated that.

The NFL had to crack down on the Saints because it was new and relevant and the NFLPA pressured them. If the PA pressures them now, then they'll likely pursue some course.

Saints were the whipping boy of the bounty scandal, it sucks if you're a Saints fan as it likely cost you a winning season. But the NFL had to take a stance. Of all the horrible things Goddell has done, that doesn't even come close to getting me angry.
 
I dont know where your getting that from. The NFLPA defended the players. Heres what the NFLPA head had to say when the case was over.....

"Having seen nearly 50,000 pages of evidence and nearly 20 hours of testimony, I know that there was no bounty put on players by Saints players," Smith told the show. "I'm disappointed in the National Football League and certainly in the way they conducted an investigation because I now know having read and seen all of the testimony that there was certainly no evidence that the bounties existed and frankly, I was a prosecutor in (Washington, D.C.) for 10 years. I understand how to do investigations. And the investigation that the league did was sloppy, the investigation that they did was more outcome-focused than frankly process-focused."

Here he is on video saying bountygate is when he realized Goodell was abusing his authority.

I don't know if it will be anything like the Manning/Brady duels, but last night was quite possibly the first of the next QB rivalry with Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz. Both good QBs and two respectable guys as well.

Really nice game from them all things considered. Big win against a pretty good team when we needed it.

I think this team can actually play and beat anyone except the Pats right now. A lot depends on how the D shows up. The pass rush is slowly gaining steam and the rookies are getting better each week wth some truly nice games so far.

This has been an outstanding rookie class. Jones and Keanu are arguably our second and third best players on defense (behind Trufant). Couple that with nice seasons from Vic, Freeney, Jarrett and Clayborne and you have the foundation of an average defense.

The big issue with the defense is the linebacker corp, with the exception of Jones. It's abysmal and we don't have a deep enough secondary to account for it. I think there's some upside with Campbell, but for the most part we really don't have any internal options to fix those issues.
