REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Stafford made the plays in the last drive. He played really well against a mediocre defense yesterday. I would put him in the 2nd tier of QBs, the MVP talk is crazy.

I hope the Redskins actually have 45 guys to suit up next week. That ****ty Detroit turf costs us a couple guys on a team that was already depleted by injuries.

Stafford hasn't been that good.

But he's one of the rare junior QBs to come out and be successful in the NFL. He doesn't get enough yards per dropback. This year has been a highwater mark for him so maybe he's turning the corner.

I've seen Stafford stink up a LOT of games during the first 58 minutes or so, but those last 2 minutes he's pretty darn scary if he's playing against your team.

Detroit was playing without Levy, Ngata, Slay (2nd qtr), Abdullah, Riddick, Washington, Ebron

And Stafford's last 16 games (since JBC took over)

And that includes the first game in London which was a total disaster before the bye week last year

Im sure Detroit has a lot of injuries too and I wasn't blaming injuries for the game, just pointing out the ****ty turf got a couple more of our guys. The Skins are down starters at TE (Reed), C (Licht), NT, OLB, CB, and two starting safeties. During the game they lost their LT (tho it was last play, meaningless for that game), top two corners, right guard. We might have a rough one in London, but I think the bye is coming at the right time.

Last 16 games for Cousins:

372-540 (69%) 4,425 yards 8.19 yards per attempt 30 td 9 int 105.21 QB Rating.

MVP?

Yes. Always.

You're not holding your breath on this are you Cajun? I mean, it could it worse, it could be the VaGiants who were implicated in which case it would be an absolutely ZERO chance of any Goodell action happening, but this will be pretty close to that number.

Hey Gilesy, what kind of game is Crowder likely to have this week? I'm thinking about adding him (fantasy football) but was hoping for a little inside information first.

Likely to fade back a little. He is a nice player, but with Reed getting back in the fold his fantasy value should take a hit.

So I need to trade Cam Newton by the trade deadline in my keeper league and am now being offered AJ Green and Case Keenum for Eric Decker and Cam.

Would leave me with this roster in a 20 team PPR league:

QB: Matt Ryan
RB: Devonta Freeman
RB: Gio Bernard
WR: Antonio Brown
WR: AJ Green
TE: Ladarius Green
Flex: Willie Snead
D/ST: Packers
K: Hauschka

Bench: Keenum, Ginn, Meredith, R. Rodgers, Turbin, Hester, McDonald, Taiwan Jones (Return yardage league)

I think that roster in a 20 team has to be a contender this year and would leave me with Brown, Green and either Freeman or Ryan as keepers. I'm 4-3 right now, but am only .2 points away from the most in the league thus far. Is that enough value for Cam?

Nearly 70 percent completion percentage and a 30:9 TD/INT ratio are pretty friggin legit.

No, I know this will be swept under the rug. It just frustrates me that they worked so hard to prosecute the Saints and have since worked so hard to sweep other instances under the rug.

The Giants have had players admit to targeting a SF player they knew had 4 concussions. NFL response was that there was no evidence of any illegal hits to the neck or head area of the targeted player and that players are only held accountable for what happens on the field. So a 180 from their stance on the Saints. The only questionable hits were on Favre and quite frankly beating up Favre or any star QB is a standard practice in the NFL. Every defense says they want to hit the qb as hard as they can. There's a reason qb hit's is a tracked Stat. The fact that the Saints system penalized a player for drawing a flag tells you there is no encouragement to hurt anyone with illegal hits. Maybe intent to hurt with legal hits but that's football.

The Saints were punished because it became public and created a black eye on the sport. Same reason Brady was suspended 4 games for deflategate. It happens all the time, but when it becomes public and makes a controversy, then action has got to be taken to appease the public.

This. The NFL isn't going to draw attention to an issue people are ignoring by handing out punishments.
