Longer term, what are we talking? Competition for Rio Ruiz at 3rd/stopgap until Maitan, then eventual trade asset?
Have to think that's entirely dependent on at least a couple things...
1.) Is there really a chance Albies is included in a deal for someone like Archer/Quintana/Sale?
I think Sale is absolutely unattainable personally - the banter you hear on XM is that the feeling is it would take Moncada and Benintendi if Boston wanted him, and that Dombrowski won't go that far. I'm not so sure about that, but I definitely wouldn't. For the Braves to even approach that kind of package, you're probably looking at Swanson, Albies, AND an arm (and that arm would probably have to be their choice). Could Albies be part of landing one of those other guys? Sure. If so, my guess would be that Demeritte's going to be looked at as next-in-line at 2B. Jace then becomes extremely important, because Travis obviously still needs a lot of work on his approach.
2.) Just how fast does the brass think he and Maitan can realistically develop?
If both can be ready by 2019, then the Braves wouldn't be completely wasting two years of Julio and Archer or Quintana at the top of the rotation with a Garcia/Ruiz platoon at 3B and Jace at 2B. If they need serious production from those positions before then, you probably better keep Albies and look for another 3B. If Kemp keeps producing and Markakis' numbers don't fall off a cliff, you can probably still be pretty competitive for the next two years with a strong duo at the top of the rotation.
I don't think anyone can really tell at this point. As of now, Travis is probably best-suited as a "super-sub" with a strong bat that plays 4 times a week - but if Folty, Wisler, and Newcomb don't take steps forward and become legitimate #2/#3 SPs, Albies may have to be moved to get one - and that probably scuttles the original "plan".

I would be shocked if Albies goes anywhere.
I'm not advocating it, but I could see it happening. Outside of LF, 2B isn't that hard to fill. We have a little pipeline already. It would need to be for an ace pitcher or a young stud OF'er to make any sense though.
If I had to bet on it I'd say he isn't traded though.
