The Trump Presidency

why does it need to be pointed out ?

You either agree or disagree.
Or find parts that make sense to you and others that don't

Seems Wes and Bedell have a solution looking for a problem

or in simple talk
Made up their minds before seeing all the information

Ask 50 - he's the one who said it needed to be noted. I always assume every site/source is biased. There are no uninterpreted "facts" nor articles or stories written that are neutral.

Have no idea what the rest of your drivel is about.

Oh, and I despise the Breitbart outfit now, fwiw.

I have mixed feelings on the current Breitbart outfit. I hate the pandering to the alt right and essentially propaganda for the Trump campaign. I hate that they crap all over conservatives who criticize Trump. I do like that they've attracted a young crowd, a lot of whom aren't actually alt right. And they've done this through humor, which is something I think conservatives have been missing. It's controversial and offensive, but it's fun. I just wish they wouldn't apologize for the alt right and allow them a platform.

Reading back I apologize for using your name

I don't get the hate for the ALT-right. There may be a few bad apples giving the entire faction a bad name, but, as I iterated in another thread, I really do believe that the group is the grassroots future of the conservative movement.

The ALT-right is not Breitbart. The site serves loosely as a legitimizing mechanism for the body, but it's almost universally not the originator of the information it promotes. That's an important distinction to make, IMO. Bannon was smart to cultivate that information. I personally am relieved he was not made Chief of Staff, but have no problem with him in the White House. He's a maverick, sure - but these notions of him being an anti-semite/white supremacist are ludicrous and unfounded. Typical media sensationalism.

While understanding your "note the leaning of your source" caveat, don't we now have to do that with every signal link? I mean really, what outlet hasn't been biased one way or another?

True. I'm not perfect in this department, but when I post a link from a source, I usually try to provide the perceived slant of the site. For instance, if it's from The New Republic, I usually try to say "the left-of-center The New Republic" or something like that. I screw up enough, but I try to give people some context.

The alt-right has definitely become muddied over time as its expanded, but the beginning of the movement was based on white supremacy. Richard Spencer, who coined the term, is an admitted white nationalist. Which is why people like Milo have been reticent to define themselves as alt-right. I think as we've moved on the term is starting to just basically mean conservatives who are anti-establishment. But they aren't rejecting the ideas of Richard Spencer. Spencer is still considered alt-right and he still has a voice in that alt-right circle. And that's where I object to the alt-right. I believe strongly in assimilation based on western culture. This idea that races should be separated is horrific as far as I'm concerned and I can't be a part of a movement that acquiesces to that idea.

I'm still trying to figure out this alt-right term. This is someone that's relatively new to me. Is this like the Breitbart wing of the party or the present day neoconservative?

Does anybody here watch CNN? Found out tonight that Kayleigh McEnany (attractive blonde Trump surrogate) is engaged to ... Sean Gilmartin.

Six degrees of separation, baby.

Just in case you forgot who he is

No way should his kids be given top secret security clearance. And btw, I think he is an idiot to put them in that kind of 'insecurity'. The idea of a whole family of know-nothings who can't keep their mouths shut on anything making policy decisions is bad enough, but you'd think a father would sense all the unnecessary dangers and hassles with such a situation and want to protect his family from it all.

Does anyone else think Pence may not be thrilled about having to be in charge of the transition? Seems like a hell of a lot of busy work for the VP elect to have to deal with.

I think it's the opposite...the transition work is way more consequential than the VP, unless you're a Cheney sort. I agree that he's going to be a busy VP, though.
