The Trump Presidency

Twitter banned Richard Spencer today. He is the alt right founder. Thoughts on that?

Don't like it. I'd rather see what he's saying. Besides, iit gives that side more to point to in their media complaints. What prompted the ban?

Speaking of authoritarian actions, here's a good article on the rise of the authoritarian constituents.

This trend had been accelerated in recent years by demographic and economic changes such as immigration, which "activated" authoritarian tendencies, leading many Americans to seek out a strongman leader who would preserve a status quo they feel is under threat and impose order on a world they perceive as increasingly alien.

"Trump embodies the classic authoritarian leadership style: simple, powerful, and punitive"

These Americans with authoritarian views, they found, were sorting into the GOP, driving polarization. But they were also creating a divide within the party, at first latent, between traditional Republican voters and this group whose views were simultaneously less orthodox and, often, more extreme.

Over time, Hetherington and Weiler had predicted, that sorting would become more and more pronounced. And so it was all but inevitable that, eventually, authoritarians would gain enough power within the GOP to make themselves heard.

Yeah, this is the same Twitter that allowed #rapemelania to trend a few days ago but perma-banned Milo Y--- for calling Leslie Jones a black man.

Denmark is ready to increase military and national security spending, Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said on Wednesday after a phone conversation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump criticised NATO allies during campaigning for the White House, saying they did not pay enough for their own defence and suggested the United States was paying a disproportionate amount.

Denmark spends about 1.2 percent of GDP on defence. NATO has set its members a target of spending 2 percent of GDP on defence.

"The government is setting the stage for increasing spending on military and national security," Rasmussen said in a statement after the phone call.

Following up on a promise to change the way Washington does business, President-elect Donald Trump will impose a five-year lobbying ban on anyone who joins his administration, his transition team announced Wednesday night.

I have mixed feelings on the current Breitbart outfit. I hate the pandering to the alt right and essentially propaganda for the Trump campaign. I hate that they crap all over conservatives who criticize Trump. I do like that they've attracted a young crowd, a lot of whom aren't actually alt right. And they've done this through humor, which is something I think conservatives have been missing. It's controversial and offensive, but it's fun. I just wish they wouldn't apologize for the alt right and allow them a platform.

What an interesting hot take

It wasn't so much an apology as it was a statement where they said they would "rededicate" themselves to blah blah blah. There wasn't any explicit apology.

Let's be clear about what they were setting the table for. This was basically their way of saying,

"Oh hey guys, we may have been a bit soft in our coverage for the past, oh, say, 8 years or so. We have heard that you want more from us, so starting in January, we are going back to being a news outlet that challenges your government. We plan to revisit this decision every four years. Of course, this has NOTHING to do with the results of the recent election going differently than we hoped."

Fascinating article.

Vox is a garbage left biased site. The author is a feminist and social justice warrior who also writes for the NYT (another non credible source when it comes to anything about Trump or republicans). Article is full of lies, cherry picked stats and pseudo science. Just look at the picture at the top of the article and it'll tell you all you need to know.

Pretty extensive take down of the media pushed myth that Trump and a significant amount of his supporters are racists.

It's the only play the libs have to win minority vote because their policies have done nothing to enrich them.

So are you going to call foul for any article not from Fox News? Is that your standard for objective journalism? I don't care if you don't like where an article comes from. If you're a Trump supporter, I assume you've already sold your soul, beyond help and will defend him to your grave. More power to you.

The article, if you read it, is mostly about studies done long before this election season even began and is mostly neutral about the Trump win, except to point out the obvious that Trump is an authoritarian leader and a segment of the country has been moving toward that way of thinking for a while. I'm surprised you didn't like the article. It refutes the idea that Trump supporters are just a bunch of racists and white supremacists. That's part of why I posted it.

Please, show us the lies, cherry picked stats (lol) and pseudo science you uncovered.
