When you aren't offering an actual product with accredited teachers, you keep your expenses WAY down.
I think you're severely underestimating the costs here. This is an excerpt from an article from Politico. The same article estimated Trump pocketed $5 million from Trump U, which after litigation expenses would have put Trump at a loss.
"Trump University, records and depositions indicate, and he later invested even more money. Sexton was paid $250,000 per year to operate the business and had a 4.5 percent ownership stake...
...Expenses including automobile insurance were covered by the larger Trump Organization, and Trump University shared its IT services with the larger organization as well, Matejek said. It rented its space from a Trump building at 40 Wall Street in New York, and Trump Organization handled retirement plans for Trump University staff."
