Rethinking the Heisman

After watching Lamar Jackson spit the bit for a second time in a few weeks today, I hope some folks pause before rubber stamping his Heisman trophy. All of the preseason frontrunners fell by thew wayside early, I get that, but for you consideration I put forward Pitt running back James Connor, who scored 17 touchdowns this season six months after being Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Lamar should probably still get it.

That said.. him doing the Heisman pose and then fumbling the game away Saturday was pretty magnificent.

I'm a Michigan fan, but I'm not so sure Peppers deserves it this year. That being said, he is an unbelievable talent. I really wish he'd come back for another year.

I think Lamar will win it overwhelmingly.

He may not, but I can't remember which commentator said it (and I tend to agree with him), the only positions Peppers can't play are on the offensive line or the interior of the defensive line. He's an outstanding talent. I've watched a lot of football over the years and I am astounded at some of the things Peppers does on the field.
