He isn't leaving UF for Oregon.

Hes also already made a statement himself about it tonight.

Well I wouldn't expect him to say anything before the SEC Championship if he actually was going.

If he was offered, he'd be insane to turn it down though. A much better job. Better job security, a higher chance of reaching the playoffs every year, and they'll likely pay him more.

Malik Zaire. Graduate.

Hes pretty good. Unfortunately he tore his ACL the second game of '15 and could never win the job back from Keizer.

Oh okay I know who he is now. I had just forgotten about him since Kizer took over. I think this team is far away from competing again and a graduate transfer isn't the right answer at quarterback. Young kids waiting in the wings are expecting to battle for their spot starting in the spring. Coaching is a huge issue with the Spartans.

Oregon would be REALLY wise to lure Chip Kelly back. I mean really. Let ol Chip back in the fold without losing face too bad, and they get the upper crust coach for college they need\want. Win\Win

I can't blame him if does spurn the 49ers. That is for the NFL thread though.

Best facilities, great environment, and Nike. It's a recruiting gold mine and kids eat the name brand crap up. Much easier path to get the CFP playing in that conference versus being Saban's doormat.

BP ^ and MONEY. Rumor is they are going to pay up.

My point on Saban and Herman was that a coach always denies it personally before it actually happens. Just because he came out and said "no, i won't be at Oregon next year" has zero weight as to it actually happening. Don't be naive.

Why would he leave UF for Oregon, honestly?

Because it's an immensely better job. Better job security, a much easier path to the college football playoff every year, the best facilities in all of college football, he's from that area and already has strong recruiting ties in that area, and probably the most important reason...... Oregon will probably pay him more.

For real. Majority of coaches who are about to leave will deny their interest until the day they accept a new job. This doesn't mean McElwain is any more or less likely to leave though.

Just thinking out loud here. There was so much whining, crying, complaining, and moaning when Alabama got another shot at LSU for the national championship a few years ago. All I heard was "ALABAMA DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THEIR CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!!!!". I wonder if those same people will complain the same way when Ohio State is named as a playoff team without making the Big 10 Championship Game..............................

Just saying

Imagine if Michigan who finishes third in their division gets a chance at the playoff.
