Yeah it wouldnt bother me at all if the Nats made the postseason. I would love to play them. We have seen there top 2 starters five times this year. That bullpen sucks. I would LOVE our chances.

As negative and defeatist as you are I'm sure you want no part of anybody. News flash - Only good teams make the playoffs.

I'd love to play the Nats in the playoffs and watch one of our unlikely heroes bloop a single (a Gattis bomb would do) and drive a stake through the whole of their fandom at the very moment hope is reaching a crescendo.

LOL GTFO with that ****. Yeah not wanting to play a red hot team in a short series is defeatist. OK. All things equal, I'd love to face the Nats. Wouldn't mind the Pirates or Reds. Definitely don't want the Cards or Dodgers in the NLDS.

Stras, Gio, Zimmerman in a short series or any, no thank you.

Heyward is going to keep this up all season it seems. The Nats are not making a run. They are a .500 team. They have been all year. Nothing is going to change.

Umm, just stating facts.

Their schedule is a cakewalk from here on out, outside of the final two series.

I never said they'd win 100+ games like some, FYI.

Not a surprise.

Their schedule is a cakewalk from here on out outside of the last two series.

Wouldn't surprise me if they made a big push at the WC and even the division for that matter, maybe even winning it with our offensive struggles sans Heyward.

Cereal?

Cereal.

With JUp hurt, possibly out for the year, not that crazy.

Out for the year?

Yes they have an easy schedule the rest of the way. That is the only fact you have stated. All year you've kept saying they were going to make a run so we have to watch out for them. Their season is over. They would need multiple collapses from every team in front of them to make a run at anything.

From us, yes.

They are 6.5 out of the WC, hardly impossible to make that up.

Nationals could easily have a hot month. Wouldn't mean they are a top team or anything but they have the talent to go on a run.

But not likely considering they are still a poor offensive team. The Reds/Pirates/Cards are much better teams.

With the way Werth is hitting they have three really good hitters. Harper/Desmond/Werth are good players. If Rendon can be a bit more consistent and get something out of Zimmerman they could win a lot of games in September. They aren't coming close to the Braves but I don't think six games is insurmountable.

Looks like LaRoche has started his yearly hot 2nd half as well.

Why do you guys say that? He's hitting .256 in August with 9 rbi. Has 4 HRs but 2 of those came in the first week.

He might get hot but he's not hot now.

Yes those 3 are good. But the rest of their lineup is so bad that it counters that. They are a mess and allow more runs then they score. Still can't believe there are people that think they could go on a run. So could the Dbacks but I don't see that happening either. The NL playoffs are pretty much set. Only question is who takes the Central with the other 2 being there for the wild card.

I don't really think you can say Zimmerman and Laroche are bad. They aren't great obviously but they are the 4/5 best players on the team. Thats not shabby. I think you underrate them. Again, I don't believe that six games is insurrmountable. The NL Central teams are playing eachother all month long in September and the Nationals have a cake schedule. It can happen. They still have really good starting pitching.

I think you and others have overrated them all season. There is a reason they have hovered at .500 all year. They are a .500 team. Yes they have really good starting pitching. But they have a really poor offense, a poor defense, and a shaky bullpen. Again, there is a reason they have allowed more runs then they have scored. They aren't a god team.
