Lineup Thursday Night

With Kemp being reactivated, it is a good time to adjust the line-up. How would you do it if you were Snit.

Mine is:

Ender

Phillips

Freddie

Kemp

Marky

Swanson

Adonis/Peterson platoon (it is a shame when a guy hitting .217 against righties is a major upgrade)

Suzuki (until Tyler is back)

Send Swanson down, send Krol down (think he still has options), send Bonifacio down bring up Kubitza and Albers

Have Swanson pair with Albies every day and work on hitting the slider and getting his confidence back. He wouldn't come back for a long, long time unless he starts hitting .400 and playing great defense.

I like the idea of having Dansby and Albies working together for a joint call-up later if they both do well. But right now he is obviously pressing and man he can't hit a slider to save his life. .400 is a little unrealistic though. I would accept .350+.

A pro can't only hit FB and expect to last.

Phillips probably is best suited to hit second behind Ender -- he's already hitting well, so playing in front of Freddie would only help.

But I'd like to see:
Ender CF
Markakis RF
Freeman 1B
Kemp LF
Phillips 2B
Swanson SS
Peterson 3B
Suzuki C
Pitcher

Swanson probably isn't going anywhere and will continue to be our number two guy, I'd imagine.

I can't really argue with this mainly due to poor options for the 2 hole, but I think Swanson needs to be given at least 100 PAs to adjust.

There were always whispers that Swanson didn't have the tools to be more than a solid average 2 WAR player. Maybe that's true, and if so, he doesn't belong in the top half of an MLB lineup.

Side note: it is inexcusable that the FO couldn't manage to upgrade 3B or add a competent 4th OFer over the last 2 offseasons.
