What was the bet on Kemp?

I like to call it friendly banter. Like buddies drinking over a good game of cornhole. Most of the time posibraves and negabraves have one thing in common. There are a few who might not be braves fans and a few like law that have no business on the board. Otherwise this is healthy in my opinion.

That's possible. I don't read the main board as much I used to, but I figured it would be fun to read everybody's reaction to the three homerun game and that thread was embarrassing.

I thought he could be the low to mid 800 OPS guy he was in Atlanta last year. I still think that's what he's going to give us going forward. Obviously the great first month would skew his yearly totals higher then that.

I'm with you on this. We banter. Sometimes it gets a little rough. But there was one post by the poster you mentioned that took things to a different level. And its not the first time he's done something like that.

You said you think he's a low to mid 800 ops guy. Then you said his first month would skew that. It doesn't work that way. He is the compilation of all his stats.

Yes. I think a low to mid 800 OPS is his true talent level. Means I think that's what he's give us that going forward. Obviously his year to end stats will be a lot higher then that due to his great start. Just as I think Swanson will provide around a 700 OPS the rest of the way but his yearly stats won't show that due to his poor start.
 
I guess the other thread got deleted so I will put my post in here. Something that might be interesting to keep up with as the season progresses. To reach 1 bWAR Kemp would need to hit at roughly an 840 OPS the rest of the way. This is assuming Kemp plays in 125 of the Braves remaining 138 games. It also assumes that Kemp's level of defense through the first 14 games he has played remains consistent the rest of the way.

What if KEMvP is sitting at say 0.9 and traded to AL team? How much of a punishment does he get for bring DH?

DH penalty is -17.5 runs for 162 games. Corner outfield spots are -7.5. The fun fact about Kemp is that he is so bad according to defensive metrics that his overall WAR will improve by being a full time DH.
 
I feel like he should get at least. .1 dWAR for hanging on the LF wall and cracking jokes with Addison Reed in the Mets BP after Reyes's HR last night. That takes some talent, right?
