1st- Giants, 11-23

2nd- Braves, 11-20

3rd- Jays, 12-21

4th- Royals, 12-20

5th- Padres, 13-21

Jays and Royals could both blow it up, have alot of interesting pieces. Royals especially.

Braves will probably be close and win meaningless games in September. Figure the Giants get it going eventually, especially once Bumgarner is back.

I don't think we're the worst team in baseball, but, damn, we're close enough that we ought to try to be.

We need to become sellers at the deadline. Kemp has to go while he's hot. He's 32 with various health problems. Just how long will he be effective?

About to give up. We could have had Hunter Greene but no, we had to win a bunch of meaningless games down the stretch. We'll be mired in mediocrity for 20 years.

****ing Braves, trying to win games, how dare they be that incompetent. Coppy needs to go into the locker room and tell the players to start losing more. This winning **** will not be tolerated.

If the FO is smart they'll ride out Snitker til the last game and we have the worst record. Firing him in July and having someone like TP or Eddie spark the team to another winning September would be bad for the future.

Say what you want, but you can't contend and rebuild at the same time. It's just a lie to sell tickets and all it does is knock you out of the really elite talent in the draft most times (unless you get lucky). How about just saying "We are rebuilding, it's going to take time." ? Houston did that. I can't tell you how little I care if we win 60 games or 70....it's friggin pointless unless there is a point to it.

If there is any draft to be #1 it is next years. I don't know his numbers this year but Beer is probably the best #1 since Harper.

People were raving about JJ Schwarz a year ago just like they are Beer now, and Schwarz isn't in anyone's top 100 draft prospects anymore. Beer is better than Schwarz, but I'd bet a lot of money he isn't the first pick. He's a below average defender at every position he's linked to playing.

I am not following the draft very closely but I highly doubt this. I doubt anyone is even as good of prospect as Heywood was.

I seem to remember people giving Houston **** for trying to compete too early when they traded for Gattis. You never know how some things will break. A few more things go our way like Swanson not turning into Melvin, Colon being just a 4 ERA starter, and Vizcaino not imploding several times and we could be contending. Last 2 years yeah I agree going in there was no hope. This year it might have been against the odds but every year there are surprise teams. I dont want them attempting to compete at all costs and trading prospects or signing big name free agents to lucrative contracts but what they did this last offseason I think was very reasonable.

Seth is a pretty good hitter but he struggles mightily vs lefties and is a complete liability defensively..:

Beer is a phenomenal hitter. I don't care what he does defensively, this is a guy who had more than double the BB as K as a freshman. He is a next level hitter.

He's doing it again this year at 51 BB/24 K. I'm with you that he's a really good hitter, but guys with that serious of defensive question marks don't go 1-1.
