His K's are still a bit too high, but other than that Cumberland is having a hell of a month of May.
Saw on twitter tonight that he hasn't hit a ground ball since Sunday.

Seems like Acuna just misses a lot of homers. As he continues to grow and get stronger those should start to turn to homers. Hard not to get real excited about him.
Plus he is playing in a really tough hitters environment.
If I'm reading this right, the HR PF for Miss ballpark indicates it is almost 2x harder to hit a HR in that ballpark than in the rest of the Southern League parks. On top of that, the Southern league as a whole is one of the hardest third of all affiliated leagues to score in.

Indeed.
Looking at his splits, one thing that jumps out (and I mean really jumps out) is that Cumberland can't hit LHP at all. 11 Ks in approximately 24 PAs (can't find SFs, HBPs, etc.) against LHP. K-rate is still high against RHP, but better. Curious player. I still think that if your hitting tendencies skew toward fly balls (and have in college), there's a bit of an aluminum effect that's going to have to be corrected. The other thing about Cumberland is that he may be one of those guys who plays "bat" and will have to find a position. If he develops into a decent catcher, he could be a solid contributor if the offensive uptick continues.
