TUESDAY MINORS THREAD 5/30 ... Medlen starts for Miss.

Dustin Peterson 2-2, 2b

The Upton trade still has a chance to work out well.

One year of Upton for:

Fried

Dustin Peterson

Mallex Smith ---> Gohara

Jace Peterson

I think D Pete may end up being useful. The pitchers might make it something. I still feel good about Fried if he stays healthy.

Through four innings, Acuna is 2-3 with a double. Demeritte is 2-2 with a double and a walk.

Could you be anymore childish? I've never seen anyone so anal about any issue in my life.

Agree. It's like we all should be ticked off that Anderson doesn't throw a shut-out every time he takes the mound. 12 months ago, he was getting ready to graduate from high school.

Demeritte's been striking out a bit more, but he's driving the ball with some authority. From a quick glance, it looks like he's tied for 3rd in the SL in the XBH category.

First 77 ABs for Acuna in Mississippi;

.390/.448/.623, 21 SO, 9 BB, 7 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 10 SB, 5 CS

That BA and SLG% would be first in the SL if he had the ABs and the OBP would be second, he's also tied for fourth in the league in stolen bases.

If he keeps this up till break, do you move him to AAA after break?

It's getting to the point where we can seriously start to discuss Acuna being the #1 prospect in the system, and in the Top 10-20 overall. I see no reason not to include him up with Robles and Eloy. He is younger than both of them, producing better than both of them, is at a higher level than both of them, and is doing it in a hitting environment at least as difficult as both of them.

Albies, Acuna and Maitan are becoming a 3-headed prospect monster for the Braves, and should start to ease the concerns we have about the Braves being too pitcher heavy.
