MONDAY MINORS FINAL 6/12 ... It's Something's Got To Give Day

Cant really justify it with any stats but for some reason I am a believer in Fried. I think he is going to be a quality major league pitcher if not better. I am gonna ride this bandwagon to the end.

Well if you "believe it" that should be good enough for us!

Derp!!

I was expecting a bigger improvement based on the fact he was further removed from TJ.

At best, you can say he is the same as last year, but I don't think you can make that argument to be honest.

He's 23. He needs to get it going, IMO

Aside from the ERA he's pretty similar to last season facing better competition. He can't really do anything about having lost 2 years to injury.

Look, I have to get some sleep. I cant continue this over 20 threads right now. If you want a flame war its going to have to wait.

He skipped a level.

He skipped a level.

Yes... but he has been worse:

2016
ERA: 3.93 Whip: 1.301 K/9: 9.79 BB/9: 4.11 FIP: 3.97

2017
ERA: 5.49 Whip: 1.433 K/9: 9.10 BB/9: 4.04 FIP: 4.22

It's not lost on me that he is up a level. But if our expectation is for him to maintain subpar performance, then that bar is set pretty low, no? Last year was supposed to be the recovery year. This year I was hoping for a bigger jump forward.

Fried. I am More disappointed with riding such a great spring he came out really flat. He should be better this year and is not. I too think he will be good the second half however.

He went from Low A to AA.

No one would call his second half last season subpar.

We are only a third of the way through this season.

I don't think anyone is dancing a jig.

Minter's first inning back: strikes out the side with two legit prospects -- Shed Long and Nick Senzel.

A.J. Minter sighting! One inning, three whiffs. Taking up where he left off.
