I'm not sure I understand this. Money saved in the first 10 rounds doesn't help you for Round 11, does it?

My understanding is that you have a bonus pool accumulated through the first 10 rounds, then after round 10 there is no pool at all. So can you not use your entire pool for the first 10 rounds and still go over in Round 11?

Braves have ~10 million to spend the entire draft. That money is spread out through the first ten rounds however. Round 11 you can spend what you want. If guy doesn't sign you only lose pick not slot money.

Do the overages in rounds 11-40 count against your bonus pool for 1-10? If so, I get it. If not, I don't. I was under the impression they do not.

Anything over $125k given to a player after round 10 counts towards the pool. So if the Braves save $1.5M in rounds 3-10, they can draft Beck in the 11th and give him $1.5M + $125k.
 
Any word on that guy we drafted last year that was first round talent worthy but screwed up on our slot estimates and couldn't sign? I'd really like to get that guy in our system, sounded like he could have been a good one.

First Round talent worthy? Josh Anthony certainly doesn't have that talent. He struggled at AU this year.

Yep, an extra 2 mil from being the #2 pick would have allowed us to pick Beck with our 3rd pick, pay him 3.5 mil, and still have over 1 mil left for giving extra money to guys signing in the 11-40 rounds. We got two of the guys I wanted with our first two picks, so I'm stoked, but brushing off the ability to grab another big talent in the 3rd with that extra money as no big deal is kinda crazy.
 
I read somewhere that there are like 14 of the top 102 prospects available or something like that?

Should make the 11th round one of the most exciting in the draft. Let's get one more elite guy.

Beck hasnt even been picked yet. Not a given he would he even sign, might be wanting the moon to sign.
