College Football Thread

Never said anything about Kent State. Just clarifying the earlier mistake of who beat them by 20 points. Losing to Miami, OH who was probably one of the worst teams in all of college football last yr certainly is proof Ohio is such a great team

You don't even follow it so you are just talking out of your ass. Look and see how many injuries Ohio had going into that game.

In the UT/WKU game WKU had one stretch where they turned the ball over 5 times in six plays... not just possessions, but actual plays. I doubt that will ever happen again.

How has this happened to Texas. They should be owning the Big 12 right now and they're struggling to finish .500 lately.

Teams that most impressed in week 2:

Oregon - UVA is not a bad football team
Miami - What a big win for Al Golden
Baylor - Destroyed a Buffalo team that hung around with OSU late
Michigan - Notre Dame is not a great team this year, but Michigan did what they needed to in a high pressure game.

Teams that least impressed in week 2:

Texas - Tough match up with 1995 Nebraska, but still you'd like for it to be a bit closer than... wait... oh... that was BYU? well... ehem.
USC - Only scored 7 points against Washington St? What is going on over there? They have a fairly easy schedule this season, but at least 5 losses seems likely.
NCSU - Nearly lost to Richmond
South Carolina - What happened to the defense? Really made me look bad and giles look good for my week 1 pick. That's not good for my ego.

Weso, I wouldn't write off ND yet. Gardner from Michigan is a damn good QB. He's probably the second best qb they've faced In the last year next to the Alabama QB. Michigan should easily win out and could potentially go undefeated. ND's offense looks better than it was last year. Defense not so much, but I think it'll get better. ND should still put up 9 plus wins.

I still refuse to see how that was big win for the Canes...

I would say Florida had no business losing the game...

First Downs: Florida 22 Miami 10
3rd Down efficiency: Florida 6-15 Miami 1-11
Total Yards: Florida 413 Miami 212

Passing Comp-Att: Florida 22-33 Miami 12-25
Yards Per Pass: Florida 8.8 Miami 6.5

Rushing Yards: Florida 122 Miami 50

Possession: Florida 39:20 Miami 20:40

Miami had 60 total yards after the first quarter...

Plain and simple, Florida lost because of turnovers, that was the only area of the game they were beat, which lead to the 5 point victory.

No one would have guessed that Florida would lose when they held Duke to less than 60 rushing yards, Driskel would pass for 300, and Florida would run for over 100.

Shocker of the year...Turnovers will get you beat. In no way shape or form does it take away the fact it wasn't a big W.

Georgia played better than most of their own fanbase had expected. Murray finally had a turnover free game in a big spot. Bout time.

Looking even more forward to this Bama-A&M game since Georgia is off. Want Johnny Football to get humbled, but good God, Paul Finebaum....so annoying.

WTF is this crap about a "Johnny cam" at the game today??? Saban cam would be more compelling, though not nearly as classic as a Spurrier cam.

I might see some of the big game this afternoon. Those few seasons where Michigan State mattered were fun while they lasted. The offense is so bad. They have a top 5 defense in the nation and it goes to waste because of the offense.
