Albies as a 20 year old in AAA: .272/.320/.424 (.744 OPS)
TD as a 22 year old in AA: .245/.323/.438 (.760 OPS)

Remember when Albies was freshly coming off a broken elbow and was "struggling" and folks didn't have him in the Top 5 Braves prospects anymore? Remember when folks thought it would be wise to keep TD and trade Albies?

Those people "know baseball" haha.

PS - Albies has a .964 OPS so far in June, he is juuuust fine.

Did anybody ever have Albies outside of their top 5?

I also think it was extremely dumb when people soured even a little on Albies, but you are the king of randomly crafted straw men.

It has never been about Albies < TD debate.. Again you of all people should be able to look at any trade Ozzie talk objectively and say.. is the return better than the trade off. Say you can package Ozzie and Adams for a legit stud 3B plus... Then shift JoGun over to 2nd and TD be utility.. Is that a better OVERALL than Ozzie at 2nd and TD/JoGun at 3rd. I don't know..

Go back through the Wright thread when everyone started ranking current prospects. There's some real doozies in there from the folks that "just know baseball".

The answer is no. Mid-market teams don't trade away Top 10 position prospects. They play their service clock correctly so they control those players for 6.8 years.

That is fine.. I will never disagree.. But I don't ever recall anyone putting Ozzie below TD.. for the record, I never had Ozzie outside my top 1.. if I did, it was a mistake.

I remember very few people having Albies outside the top-5.

I don't see why Ozzie can't be a Jose Ramirez/Michael Brantley type. Perhaps with better speed. Guy is 20 years old. That's wild.

I've never seen anyone say Albies needs to go or Albies is worse that Demerrite.

I have seen people argue that Albies is best valued as a SS. That Albies at 2B puts more pressure on his bat and more power. And I have seen reasoned opinions that if you could trade Albies for a stud 3B that the braves might be better off with Stud 3B/Swanson/TD/FF infield vs Rio/Swanson/Albies/FF infield.

If I'm trading Albies I'm getting a STUD back. A position player Stud.

Now I think more people are dreaming on TD at 3B b/c he's playing there. He's still only in AA and there are still concerns on the hit tool and the Ks. But TD is fun to dream on and we got him for nothing.

Maybe this deadline will be awesome b/c coppy specializes in turning **** into something useful. Trading good players not as much.

my preference is trading pitching surplus for stud 3B.. then have stud 3B/swanson/ozzie/FF infield.

Braves have announced that Braeden Schlehuber has voluntarily retired as a player. Pinch-hit Sunday in his final AB.

Utah native fourth round pick in 2008; had 1,963 career at-bats, .220 average, never played in more than 100 games in a season ('09 Rome). Could easily see him being a successful coach, as Braves moved him to where he was needed in latter years.

Two more minor league veterans released off Mississippi roster: Infielder Levi Hyams, former Georgia Bulldog drafted in 19th round of 2012, had over 1,500 minor league ABs and was hitting only .189 for Mississippi.

Reed Harper, shortstop was 25th rounder picked in 2013, had played in only 24 games this season and was hitting only .121. A .226 career hitter.
