6/22 GDT: San Francisco Giants (27-47) vs. Atlanta Braves (33-38)

This is the best spin I have seen all day.. And that includes stalking Enscheff at his salsa lessons with his Australian partner. Nothing like using the word 'probably' when making a comparative statement.

Freddie Freeman is a career 137 wRC+ hitter.

Last year - the best of his career, was 152.

Unless you think he was going to finish the season with 60 HRs and a 1.200 OPS, then regression was PROBABLY going to come.

So, I'll confidently say that Adams has given us what we could reasonably have expected Freeman to give us.

If you think that is spin, then there's no point in ever discussing anything with you objectively

Offensively.

Freeman was a 202 wRC+... but that was unsustainable... he's probably a ~150 wRC+ type hitter.

Adams has put up a 151 wRC+ since being with the Braves.

Meaning, the Braves OFFENSE hasn't lost much since Freeman went down

Adams is clearly hitting to his potential, finally. All it took was a few weeks having a tomahawk on his chest!!

OK, at first I figured you were just joking. But now it's getting a little too accurate...

Are you and Super tag-team stalking me? He does it on the interweb and you do it in person?

What if for this past month Freeman produced around 175? 190? Point is, Freeman was hitting better this season than Adams has for the Braves.

I'm not sure if you're arguing with me, but I'm basically saying that the Braves offense hasn't suffered much since losing Freeman.

I'm not saying Adams should be expected to produce like this.

Yes. He was.

Unlikely to continue. Obviously I'll be thrilled if it does.

I think Freeman has become one of the best hitters in MLB... that doesn't think I believe he's turned into Barry Bonds

But you can't compare what Adams IS doing to what FF should have been doing. Either compare what both guys should be doing or what both guys DID

But we're talking about the last month, not the rest of his career, or even the rest of the season. Freeman was on fire, and that easily could've lasted another 15-20 games. A 170, or 190, or 202 over 150 is pretty meaningful.

Ok... I see what you are doing. sorry. I didn't make connection. I think it is still a bit speculative.. but I at least see the dotted lines now.

It's possible Freddie would've been at 150 or worse the past month. But he was at 202. So Adams' 151 didn't replace that.

Yeah, but to be fair, if Freddie had never been hurt, we don't go get Adams.

Fair fair.

I am purposely being pedantic. If someone wants to classify the Braves offense as "average" rather than "good", well then all power to them. It's rather important that the members of this board receive a good audit of their declarations now and again.

I know exactly what you're saying, and you're 100% right. Apparently I didn't lay the sarcasm on thick enough haha.

The folks arguing with you are...special.

Tomahawk has nothing to do with. KEMvP protecting from in front. Just imagine a lineup with KEMvP in between FF and Adams #championship

I am not sure how well it will turn out defensively, but a lineup of Ender, Phillips, Freeman, Kemp, Adams, Markakis, Flowers, Swanson is quite appealing to me.

Have we ever had 8 guys hit over .300 for the same month before?

you don't know Game7 very well.. No way he goes LLRR before the pitcher. swap Flowers and MarkyMark and you have a sharpie lineup for Snit...

Well, the argument being made by some is it's bad rather than average or good.
