Fried's not really pitching that much differently than he did overall last year. His ERA is inflated right now. He hasn't been particularly good, but he hasn't been nearly as bad as it seems.

I fully expect a roster move today with colon being DFA or on DL. Think winkler or aj minter could get the call?

I don't think they are going to bring Minter up yet. Winkler can at anytime since he is on the 40 man already. I think they would want him to be in AAA until the all star break though. The pen is well rested right now. I think Colon remains for another day or so while they think of what they can do.

I would call the Mets and see if they want to trade for Colon. Say, we will pay his salary and you can give us cash (1,000). That way he can then announce his retirement as a Met. Win/Win. We don't have to cut him, Mets don't have to play him, he goes out as a Met and on his terms.

Colon would probably pitch ok for the Mets. One of the things that we are going to have to be very careful with going forward when acquiring pitchers is to take into account the interaction between Suntrust and the way a particular guy pitches.

isn't it irresponsible to bring up minter until he's pitched back to back days at least once?

I'd be fine if they put colon in long relief and see if that works.

Fried I've heard has a big problem pitching out of the stretch this year and to RH batters.....we'll see. I'm still on Fried Island.

I just don't think Colon has any place on this team. I don't want to take innings away from Jackson. And Hursh was actually effective while he was up.

I agree on Minter. He needs to stay down this year and continue to prove he can stay healthy... no need to add him to the roster if he is going to be an injury concern. Also agree on Fried. I am still on that island, but it seems to be getting fewer and fewer people.

Albies will have a 20 homer season in the majors. His strength is impressive. Little man is hitting them out to center and the gaps with ease.

Per some report his velocity and the break on his curve ball has not been what it was even in spring training.

With his contact skills aND speed you are talking about a 5+ war player then.

btw.. Chaz Roe starting his rehab assignment with GCL today. Assuming he pitches just the 1st inning for a few games before moving up the ranks.

Great GCL debut for Yefri Del Rosario: 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.

Combined numbers between GCL and DSL so far: 8 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 12 K.
