Hale starts in place of maholm on friday(getting an MRI on his elbow)
 
They're just giving Wood extra rest like they did with Teheran. I think that's a good thing, that might be wants been wrong with him the last couple of starts. The Maholm thing, though sounds more serious. It might make the post season decision easy.

It may also signal that Wren and Gonzalez are seriously considering employing Wood as a starter in the playoffs — something that would be even less surprising if Maholm is injured/out.
 
Maholm has mostly looked bad since coming off the DL...he seemed to be pitching up in the strike zone a lot.
 
well apparently Eovaldi won't be starting tomorrow either cause of a sore back.. catch a break there
 
Well, at least Uggla is benched hopefully.

No problems with skipping Wood, could use the rest.

I have a feeling it won't be that long. Some contender before the July 31 deadline will give the Marlins an offer they can't refuse.
